Gone are the temporary wires and ties. A couple of anchor brackets were added in low 40 degree temp this morning.

After getting the main hood support angles tied down I started roughing out the lower hood supports. A little variance from original design sketches.

And the hood is back on in temporary position.

Since this hybrid bike is a collection of parts though this old Johnny Cash song was somewhat appropriate.

Are those vertical angle irons (with perforated angle braces) attached the steering mechanism? Kinda hard to tell from the picture. Seems like it would prevent any steering action.

It looks that way in most of the pics, but you can see here that they aren't attached.

I can't wait to see you pop a wheelie with this!!!!

Here's a little gem I found on Facebook. Check out the steering system on this baby!

Can’t really tell what’s going on there. Looks like part of a tricycle rear end conversion kit bolted to a lowrider fork. Can’t tell if there is any pivot or swivel for the steering or not. Interesting setup.

I love Johnny's impression of June when he says, "Honey, take me for a spin"
RIP, MIB
Ready for a spin myself...working towards the final spin.
The new supports should give you a good foundation for that hood.
Yes I think I’m on track but just keep adding weight. Cold and rainy again today, took a break. Went for drive thru food at our favorite Cajun style Louisiana Chicken restaurant. Been over 3 months.

Not attached, but could relate to steering down the road if I work out the steering knuckle geometry.

When I took the photos I purposely tried to create a little mystique with the verticals to see how close folks were looking. Good eye.

Probably no wheelies maybe endos or sideos. Keep thinking there’s room under there for a motor and front wheel drive. That would require a lot more stability though.

I did an experimental anchoring of the hood. I didn’t want to drill holes yet so I went through the grill and perforated braces with 5/16” allthread, washers and nuts. That eliminates most of the wiggle. Some nuts on inside would button it up.

I took it for a spin with the bars. Still need more resistance in the front end. I have some gas filled struts on the way. I like the proportions of the 24” wheels and axle. The turning radius is limited though. Basically picking up the rear end to make 90/180 degree turns.
I have a piece of 36” allthread for axle that I’ll experiment with. It’s all trial and error at this point. The pivot point also seems to work a little too well.

Wow, missed this build until now. I love what you've got going on.
Always good to see folks stopping by to to take a look at what’s going on with the trial and error build. Thanks!
Same with the Worksman. You gotta set up for the corner, wide and slow
This ole bike is really cramped at present. I got the hood mount at least roughed out today. I think the next experiment involves changing the front footprint width up some.

80 degrees and dry today instead of 40’s and rain was a nice change. Thinking that I’ve completed the hood support structure today, at least through the mock-up phase. I have a few details to work out.

The bars are back for now, still plan to incorporate the steering wheel. Under the hood...now to leave it sit in the rain to gain patina somewhat matching the hood?

I have to admit, when I saw the tractor hood, I didn't think this would look good. But ya got me, this thing is crazy cool!

What does WAH-SEBD-3 stand for?

Hey thanks for the support. Stay tuned, more to come.
WAHA-SEDB-3 abbreviation for Wards Hawthorne bike, Sears David Bradley hood and 3 wheel tricycle.
