I've got a La Jolla. The only complaint I have had was the grips. Otherwise it's a great bike. It looks good and I get more compliments on it than my other bikes but I don't feel nervous about leaving it unlocked outside of restaurants when I ride to lunch.

I'm impressed. I was apprehensive, especially when you said you wanted to fix gear a bmx. I think you should keep the hoop on the bar, for structural integrity, but it would look pretty cool if you could mount a headlight to it.

Newb here I wouldn't say mine is beer themed, merely beer accessorized. (yeah, not much done to it at all) This isn't a permenant fixture on the bike, it comes on and off with my mood.
