Yes my equestrian agriculturist, that is a striking resemblance! I am kind of torn between making this thing look fast and muscle-y, or ratty and hot rodd-y. Kind of leaning for an in-between the two....we shall see!

Beautiful job! Knew you would pull this off.

Great info here......so what about headlights? I think TRM uses led flashlights? The headlights are what makes me want one of these tanks.
Chad, I'm trying to decide what I will use for lights. They might be old looking, with an LED inside similar to what I did with Beer Boy Delivery last year....have a couple of ideas.....

....annnnd the rain is here. Fortunately, I got the sanding done on the tank body right before it hit. Inside the cozy confines of BACK40 now.....

This Bondo stuff is cool! And it's in my favorite color....RUST!! :21:

Looks like some good ideas cooking on the lights. Then you're going to patina the tank? This is gonna be cool.

Yeah, leaning towards my usual general direction....completely rust-ified in my rat-ionalizations!

Well, damp or not, I've got a major insect where the sun don't shine about getting this tank rustified.....so here goes....grey primer on. Hour later, first dusting of the Rust-Oleum Multi-Color Texture lighter shade.

So, I had this idea. After the lighter shade of textured Rust-Oleum, I laid down a flame sticker on top. Then I followed with the darker shade of textured paint. It has a nice rusty 'ghost flame' effect....but is it too subtle? Cuz I have an alternative planned if you all don't think it stands out enough, or could have a greater impact....let me know your thoughts!

I like it like it is, but I'd like to know the alternate plan before saying one way or another!

Yeah, TRM, I admit that wasn't a very fair question, was it? Okay, so, while I was peeling the sticker off, it kind of stuck like this and I had a thought....

'What if I made a more substantial version of this using the flame as a pattern, and adhere it to the tank to give it a more 3D look?' So, that's the other option. It may or may not flare out quite that far, but you get the idea....

I like it. You could always just accent the tips if you think it needs more.
Thanks Dave. Yeah, the left side got a little more paint with the dark, so the lines are more defined. I'm kind of torn though, because the whole job is kind of the way I wanted it to be....or, maybe just a thin line with another brown tone , marker or something....to highlight it if that's what you mean.
