Yeah......those spider tires will have to go.
Fortunately, the good folks at Surley have a few options.

With all the money saved over buying the Sun version, the cost of the tires doesn't hurt, as much. :D

Look at these too, $40 per 4'' tire vs $160 for Surly's...

Also, walmart's website says "Rigid steel, cruiser design frame"

You're right, they corrected their description to now say steel.
I don't mind the spider tires, but we'll see when I get it in. I could always use the tires and wheels for a Sears Spyder build!

I'm worried.

A few people on here have bought them, people on Undergroundvelo are buying them. I've seen people on MTBR forum buying them, I'm afraid they might actually start selling out before I sell enough to get one. Especially if some "entrepreneurs" start buying them up to resell on eBay before people realize they are available at Walmart.

When Clancy posted that link yesterday I was thinking this very thing.

Once it started making the blogosphere and forum rounds, they would probably get snatched up quickly.

I wonder how long until the price goes up...ha ha.

And you know there is some action going on since Wal-Mart changed the description to read "Steel" instead of "Aluminum" in less than 24 hours.

Maybe I should buy up a few. Sell the wheelsets on ebay for $200, tires for $40 each, fork for $70, frame and the rest for $150. $500 for $200 investment. :D

I'm just sticking to the one bike. But I could see people parting them out and making some coin.
I am sure there will also be some people that post them on CL for $500 just like they post Thruster Fixies for $300. That's when I post a link to the same bike from Walmart

Let me get mine before we start letting people know that they are only $200 from Walmart.

That's what credit cards are for. Buy now, pay later. Kind of like layaway with interest.

I'd assume they're going to get these in the store at some point. My local wallyworld has a terrible bike section though.

I was thinkingif you was building your own frame these on a set of 3gs would be a better option

Sell some parts and get one!

I should be close enough in actual and promised monies to talk my wife into letting me go ahead and order one, but I'm going to keep selling as long as I'm rolling and will already have to be going to the post office quite a few times.
