I feel lucky to be a native Savannahian. I grew up on one of the islands, but now live in a 130 year old house that we resotred in the Historic District.
We are the 4th largest port in the USA and our second biggest business is tourism. There are only about 300K people in the metro area, but we had about 9 Million tourists last year!

I haven't noticed any other RRBers from Savannah, but I know that DocTank visits now and then. If you have any photos from Savannah, feel free to post them here. It is a very flat and bike friendly town.

Here are some photos of my bikes around town

THE RISING SOUTH  :)
nice pictures , man. 8)

I sold that Miele to my neighbor and I think he has ridden twice.
It wouldn't surprise me if it ends up belonging to me again.
It has some killer 26x3 tires.

Doc, we'll have to meet up for a beer, a ride, a parts swap or all of the above sometime when you come down.

And in front of a wedding Rolls and Hummer. On any given weekend, you can see multiple weddings going on in the parks and squares.

Soon I will be adding some modifications ot BEER RUN to suit my buddies pizza restaurant that it will be hanging in. I plan to replace the chainring and put his "Your Pie" logo on the chainring. Also he is picking up a few extra pizza baking screens that I plan to mount on the wheels so it will sort of look like the wheels are made out of them.

I haven't ridden BEER RUN since Labor Day weekend, so I took it for a long ride all over Savannah. It was a super day. Sunny and 65. Plenty of tourists out, many of whom stopped me and talked or took photos. I even let a few of them sit on it for their photos. I also took advatage of being in a tourist town, and took some photos all over town. Here are some of them.

Of course what would a ride on a beer bike be without a little something special in the "water" bottle.

I had forgotten I started this thread until I wanted to post some photos from my wife's courtyard being part of the 77th Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens.

If any of you have seen my photos over the past year, you surely have seen the fish pond and water boy back drop. Well, we are lucky to live in the heart of the Landmark Historic District of Savannah, GA in an 1873 house that we restored and landscaped ourselves over a three year period.

We have been on tours before, but this one is the granddaddy of them all. We had over 700 people from all over the country come through our courtyard (my wife's creation and passion) today. Here are some photos.

Cool town and cool bikes! I played the Savannah Highland Games two years in a row, and nearly didn't come home both times. I lost all dignity in Paula Dean's restaurant, stopping just short of rubbing that awesome grub all over my face. I hope you do get that stretch chopper back, it definitely deserves to be ridden!

My neighbor started riding the Miele Chopper. His little girl just got a bike, so he has been riding along side her every few days. The bike puts him down about her level, so he can grab the bars or seat if he needs to.

Felt to need to update this thread with some more photos that show off Savannah.
