Made some progress yesterday getting the scaly layer from the frame. Not sure is this is some sort of scaly corrosion or old clear coat. Basically have to go inch by inch and scrape it away. Now I am down to the Duralium and I can start polishing.

Here is a little One Year Flashback to see where I was last year at this point in the game.

First pass, start with 1000 grit wetsand and rubbing compound. Followed by red buff wheel on a drill, followed by MAAS polishing creme. Not bad for 15 minutes of work. I'll do a deeper Polish later.

Oh man that looks like some good rubbin'! Some fine steel wool with some polish will make it pop real fast then a final buff with a wheel. But you def got her to the "fun part" so you may not want it to go so fast..:)..mmmmm...shiny

Can't wait to see what those little dealios are for.

Can anyone guess what they are?

Keep it Shinin' On

Got all of the rear half of the cast Duralium pieces polished. First pass that is. Still need to do the headtube and the forks.

A couple of you guessed what these little doodads are.
Last year I went to the kitchen and used a soup can.
This year I decided to try stepping it up to the dining room. These are salt shaker caps from old railroad dining cars. I've got a couple of ideas on where I might use a few of them.
