Alright guys, some of you know that I bought a Huffman off of eBay back in December for $31. It's a 1947 Dayton. I plan to Rat it out and use some cool original touches that Huffman is known best for. After about a months wait, the frame showed up at my door and progress began hours after. The original color of the bike was carmine red but I'm just going to clear coat it and leave the blue and cream. :D

Serial Number:7H288146

Here is the Frame I will be starting my build with.

I'll be following this build. Are you sure the blue/white isn't original and the red is primer?

yes I'm sure Ive done lots of research on these bike thanks to 37fleetwood. He has given me tons of links to compare mine with.

Double Nickle, what you have is an early postwar Dayton frame. they made that frame from somewhere in the mid 1940's until 1947, most of them are 1947's. there is no way to pin down the exact year that I know of. the fork is not original and it has been repainted. the crank is correct, the fender I'm not sure, but it looks like it may be correct. looking at the photo of the rear drop out it looks like the bike was originally Dayton's "Carmine Red".

Here is some good links of bikes like mine...

Re: The Huffman Build you don't want to miss!

My plans are...

1.Build a custom leaf springer out of a golf car spring.

2.Get the tanks. :?

3.Get a massive headlight  (deer in the headlight look  )

4.Find a super old seat with huge saggy springs. :p

5.Cream Quick Bricks 8)

6.And a lot of other things that you will have to wait and see

Re: The Huffman Build you don't want to miss!

I got some clear coat on the bike today. I decided to go glossy to bring out the blue and cream. :D
