Hey guys, so this will be the first real build that me and my buddy Jakob are going to do together. The first two builds were pretty simple and rather silly. This one is pretty silly, but we're hoping to make it as sweet as possible.

The head tube angle is a bit ridiculous... but I think we can work it out.
Sorry for the cell phone pictures, but it's all I have right now.

Started out with a girls Huffy Dash 10 speed frame. Chopped it up in my workshop and headed out to Jakob's shop.

Jakob and I took some time mocking up the ride height we wanted and getting the frame as square as possible.

I might have gotten a little carried away with the head tube angle... but we'll work with it for now.

From here we decided that we might as well do something else pretty silly, so we cut the stem up and mounted a steering wheel to it.

So this is what it looks like at the moment. I have another donor frame that we'll use for the bottom bracket, which will be mounted on the down tube about 3/4 of the way up. Originally I wanted to mount the seat right on the seat stays, but any rider would be too cramped. So we'll be mounting the seat a few inches higher along the back wheel.
We're still in the process of deciding whether to go trike or bike. If we go trike, we'll run major negative camber. Our goal is to have the tops of the wheels just barely kissing. Of course, if we run negative camber (especially that much), how do we run a drivetrain? Well, we're still brainstorming that.
If we stay bike, we want to build a trailer to run behind, or a sidecar. We've been discussing getting two small electric motors and mounting them in front and behind the seat tube, and running a direct line to the back wheel. We'd utilize the trailer for two batteries that would run the motors.

Anyways, it's still in the very, very early stages, but I am very excited for this.
Comments and critiques are more than welcome!

I saw this build the other day, but didn't have time to comment. I saw an episode of "Regular Show" and they had these crazy lowrider bikes. I started thinking about doing a frame similar to that... and what I was picturing looked just like this! Needless to say, I'll be watching this build! Very cool

Thanks everyone! To be honest, I'm not a big fan of step through frames at all, but this I can do.

I'm beginning to steer towards putting 2 electric motors on the bike and house two batteries in the wooden trailer. I was thinking about using an electric hub motor for the front wheel, that way I could do a trike with some nasty rear camber, but I'm hesitant to spend that kind of money ATM. Still in the earliest stages, though. Time to do my research, brainstorm with Jakob, hit the junk yards, and do more research.

So I finally got back in to town and went to the shop. Did some talking and tomorrow will be a day of sketching, measuring, cutting and preparing.

Decided to go for air ride suspension. Pretty sure we'll be adjusting the head tube angle, considering how impossible it is.

Also, it officially will be a trike, with FWD. The rear wheels will be either VW steelies or VW snowflakes. Either way, it should look pretty sweet. Very excited to get this build moving along and closer to completion.

Got the pivot arm and bag mounted today as well as the FWD crank system. Very interested to see how it rides. Before we make the mounts for the top portion of the rear frame, we need to get the rear axle and wheels on. Which will happen tomorrow. :)

The rest (seat and air ride management system) will probably happen next weekend I hope. So excited to take this for a spin soon.

There ya go. Got the tires on it and took it for a spin today. Quite a fun ride. Needs a seat still, but it's awesome.

The trailer will most likely house a small compressor to fill the tank, and the top rear mount needs to be reinforced and properly finished with a seat. Hopefully get the seat situated in a week or two, still looking for a nice one to put on.

I bought this for a trike project, it hasn't turned out to be either of mine. If that project turns out to be your trike PM me your shipping addr and I'll be happy to send it to you pay forward.

Very cool! Out of the box Idea I like your style! 8)

Thanks guys!
Having trouble with something. We want to run wide 20" wheels on the rear, but we're having trouble finding options. The widest I can find is a 20x4.25. Is that the widest possible?
