I will make it to Ann Arbor some day. I did very well at Memory Lane. I found my build-off project. I like the idea of finding a build-off project less than a week before the build-off begins.

If I added these to my bike, would I have to enter it in the 'choppers' category?
You need to rig up a drive system so it chomps when you pedal.
Or an audio system as a 'horn' that says "FEED ME" ! ala Seymour...
We made it up to the Fall Memory Lane Swap Meet a few years back when Memory Lane was still in business. It’s a 900+/- mile trip one way for us. Bucket List Spring item plus Ann Arbor...every bike geek should do it.

Spring is coming late (again) this year to the BACK40. We had a 10" snow fall 2 weeks ago, and tomorrow the high will be in the low 40's with a rain / snow mix.
So I'm hanging out, cleaning, and enjoying the sunshine in the BACK40 backyard today.
Out the back door of the BACK40...
Duck's on the pond....and turtles on the rock.
Meanwhile, inside, the memories of RRB build offs past...
A junk store find this winter. Tongue in cheek...
And my newly cleaned shelves. Looks like I could have a crank set sale, pedal sale, and handlebar sale soon too...

Used custom 24 x 1.25 Weinmann wheelchair rims , polised aluminum with s.s. hand rails , takes standard 507 bike tires with
new 24 x 1.75 holly rollers . I have never laced wheels before , but I guess it's to learn on the trike rear hubs . Any advise or good lead on websites would be appreciated .

Youtube has a bunch of step by step videos showing how to lace, for me, that was the easiest way to learn. For me, it seemed like an impossible task, but once I started it's pretty simple, and the end result is SUPER gratifying. Same with truing wheels! Good luck
When it's still 4 days till the RRB Build Off and you can't start building your new ride, you ride your builds.
Hawth Rod aka Hawth of a Different Color, 1959 Hawthorne from my neighbor's garage. One day a couple years ago he said, " You keep picking up these old bikes. Why don't you take mine and see what you can do with it?" Ah, sure.
Original frame, wheels, lazy heart crank. Repop Monark fork, hairpin saddle, 26 x 3 Duro white walls, Chop Shop Customz post, Thompson coke bottle grips, flat primer grey paint and white painted rims. Very plush ride.

Cool looking bike! Vaguely remember that name but don't remember ever seeing this bike. Frame almost looks modern. Did you fix that up for your neighbor or is that part of your stable?

Starting to have second thoughts on my build design, I see practicality issues... (Like there is no way it is fitting through a normal household doorway...)
Second thoughts had killed a few of my builds in the past while waiting for the start day.

Speaking of pre build prep, I knocked out the last part of my jig.
Can't stop , coming back to look at this bike . It's now on my wish list .

Of course ,being in England , it's May 1st at least 5 hours earlier than those in the states! Lol
More grilles...if I use the David Bradley hood grilles are in. Just sayin.
