Putting On Decals?

I found an old Schwinn cruiser which I am currently sanding down and I am going to repaint it. I also plan on getting some Schwinn decals for it.

When do you apply the decals? My thought would be that you put them on after your paint completly dries and then you clearcoat over them. Is that correct?

You got it right. Spray your basecoat and let it dry, then apply your decals. For a "Pro job", Clear your frame and then sand around your decals where a ridge has formed on the edge of your decals and then Clear again. you will get a nice smooth finish all the way around!
