i think the only problem with doing too many skim coats would be it might create orange-peel.

Good to know there's people out in the world that don't want your house to burn down. Here are the latest pics. I admit the paint job is amateur at best. I was not too worried about achieving maximum quality, just going for an overall look, which I think I nailed. I did have to flex the chain stays with a chunk of 2x4 and a hand mallet to make the slick not rub. These frames were never meant to hold such a fattie tire. Came up with the name Rat-Back for this build, fast back meets the rat world. I put a jolly rodger on the seat tube, and a fish sticker on the seat stay to prevent cable rub. I rode it, it rides and shifts good.
Can’t wait for better weather.
