some new forks, cheap shocks off a mountain bike. what do you guys think keep the old one or the new...

trikechopperforks001.jpg

i'm liking the way the bike sits now 8)

I been riding a trike for the last 8 months or so, get lil boring after awhile though much
like driving a car or a sidecar rather than bike, the whole 'steering' thing rather than leaning like on a bike...

Few pics of mine might give you some ideas?

Have a video of the trike in action (before paint and big rubber)

Best of luck ..OH hehe love the spot for the 6 pack too... i can fit
a whole slab on the back of mine LOL :p

p.s my trike is now scrapped parted out for new build :)

Looks good with those forks and it should ride softer too. :D

the forks are solid, i disassembled the shocks extended the inner part and drilled and bolted them solid.
not sure if you caught that?

cheers 8)

Your trike is truly a work of art, I'm sorry to hear you've scrapped it. For a good cause i guess? Your new build is as impressive or more so. If i had the choice i would have kept the trike and started the new from scratch. As far as the trike being "boring" to ride i disagree,
i have fun on my trike doing two wheeled donuts, transferring my weight to lock up the rear end, and so on...

p.s on super bikes the "show" their was a guy that had those stabilizer that your doing on your new build. That my fellow rat friend is the coolest thing i have ever seen!! 8)

cool trike. nice wrap on the seat

Hey thanks mang! I like the wrap as well, it will mesh with the bike if i ever get the thing painted

I don't have any spray equipment and can't bring myself to buy rattle cans, with lot of good paint laying around

Hey guys, need some help! I would really like to mount this front end to my trike. I'm pretty sure the head tube and bearing are the same. But the head tube on the trike is 1" too short. So what are my options? weld ( don't have a welder and i've never welded) brazing (haven't brazed but willing to give it a shot.) Any ideas on how to go about doing this?

Here's the front end

Lacing pattern looks weird because it's a 4-cross done on a smaller wheel. Nothing weird, just not common. Perfectly normal for a work bike. I love the suicide brake, too!
Yo, dude. I think you might have missed a page. @Redeyerat; One method would be to slide a section of 1" inner dia. tubing over the steer tube and use some tin can shims or metal duct tape to fit the bottom inner bearing race.

Thanks! Better late then never. lol :D Had to take the suicide brake off cause i'm in the process of motorizing the trike.
It would actually be suicide to ride it with only that brake set up.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm not sure i totally get what your saying? I need to extend the trike head tube one inch. So your saying butt a piece of tube on the bottom of the head tube and hold it there with some metal duct tape? :?: :?

No, slide it on to the steer tube of the fork, not the head tube of the frame.. The shimming is to create a new landing for the lower bearing on the fork, not the frame. :|

OK, now i'm starting to get it! You don't happen to have a pic of this method?

thx 8)

Here's what i've been up to, hope you guys approve? Still have to reroute the exhaust and rig up some front breaks. Thinking i'll use the front wheel off one of my peds. The smaller wheel will only drop me about 2-3". Goes about 15-20mph, the exhaust i have for it will free it up some.
