A while back, a member on this forum posted up a mountain bike frame that he added a second top tube to. It was love at first sight for me. I PMd him and asked if he'd mind if I copy the bike. He said no problem. So here it goes.
I bought the Vista frame from a board member. I have a brand new set of 26" coaster wheels that I'll be putting creme colored Fat Franks on, but for now I threw up a set of S7 wheels I bought from Bomb Shelter just to get an idea of what it will look like. I got the truss fork on Ebay. The lay back seat post is a chunk of handlebars. The seat is an old Bianchi I got on Ebay. I just need a nice bmx crank with 44+/- chain ring. Anyone have one?
I am going to paint the bike primer red and leave the fork rusty.
Thanks to BigPantsBob for welding in the tube last night. The tube came from a throw-away frame from yeshoney - so thanks to Joe also. And thanks to thatismytruck for the genius idea of using heat shrink tubing for grips.
i'm going to put tank plates on. that's what the tabs are for. if i can find someone to louver the plates and I can afford it, i'm going to do that.
quick mock up:
