Murray / Higgins bare metal

Had a really rough 50s Murray laying around and another really rough 50s JC Higgins begging to be revived.
The plan was to save the Higgins. But the frame was more pitted than expected and was a repaint.
The Murray frame was in good shape and one that could be repainted.
But I hate repainting with rattlecans so I went another way.
Brass wheeled the parts and frame.
Just needs a chain now. And a rider of course.

It's all about the Rescue / Revival and of course the Tanklights!!

Nice bike. Spray painting bike frames is all preparation which you already know but it's also the brand you're using. I'm not referring to cans you get at Home Depot or Walmart which is probably what you've used in the past. I did .

A few years back I was surfing YouTube and searched spray painting bicycle frames. I watched a couple videos then came across this video that was/is a game changer. Two things I took away after watching.
1. How to spray a perfect paint job.
2. The correct paint I need to use.

When painting always start by painting all the joints first. The finish by spraying the tubes.

The best paint to use is Montana and Montana Gold. It's the same paint that is used for graffiti. It comes out the can very thin but has tremendous amount of volume. You spray it 3-4 inches versus 8-10 inches like traditional spray paint. It's also cool because they sell a ton of different tips giving you multiple spray delivery options.
