Thanks guys, and thanks for sticking around through that little bump.

Unfortunately, there isn't likely to be an update til next weekend. Today is probably the last nice day Ohio will have for a few months, so we're gonna go hiking.
Looks like no update this weekend, to much family stuff happening.

But the good news is the cubs won tonight.

Ok, so holy crap the cubs made it to the series. I'm happier than a pig in mud.

Now onto the bike.
Started working on the forks, I have no gas for my welder so I'm using flux core for the first time. Its messy, but I got the drops tacked to the legs.

Welds aren't perfect

But they'll do for now, which means I'll redo them.

The reason why?

No clearance

Besides, the fork tubes kinked a little. So I'll replace them.
I just have to decide if I want to flatten the ends or move the drops closer to the side of the tube.

This is where I'm at, if I weld to the side of the fork leg. That leaves the holes in sight and fits with the chain ring and guard I'm using.

If I flatten and weld inside the tube, it gives a more traditional feel.

Oil might help. I had to go slow, saw is listed as 350rpm; drill is 850.
I got a new saw, but it was defective. Will try again Wednesday.
Check what that hole saw is made for...
Wood I think if it's like all of mine, doors and such, vinyl or aluminum wrapped wood core, same difference. But not plate steel! Wow.

Carl.

Carl.
The first saw was specifically for steel, the second was bi-metal. It hit the steel and immediately started to wobble.
I guess that the difference between $15 and $6.

I'll get a new steel saw and finish it up.
I'm still at a breaking point with bikes, but I've gotten a fire to finish this one. Mostly because I want a muscle bike I'll ride.(stormtrooper sits in a corner)

Born here, moved back many times, never considered myself from here.
Never lived in Chicago, not a fan of cities... but been a lifelong cubs fan.

Was interesting growing up, my mother... a twins fan.
Hmm, I was born in Chicago. Moved south when I was a toddler (my parents made me come with them) I'm a football fan but it's cool, some of my friends been Cubs fans forever.

Carl.
