loud screech/squeal when breaking (Nexus 3 speed)?

Hey all,

So I have a bike with a newer Nexus internal 3 speed w/ coaster brake, and when at high speeds particularly going down hill and needing to come to a complete stop when my bike gets close to stopping there is a loud screeching/squealing sound from the rear brake.

Is this common? Does my rear end just need to be lubed up or something more there to be worked on. Trying to resolve this myself as opposed to taking it into the LBS.

I installed a used 3 speed hub on my wifes bike and it would make a noise and the wheel would lock up instead of it braking smoothly. Lubed it and it works fine now.

My Torker Boardwalk is Nexus 3 equipt and i've noticed this same issue, besides being really loud. I think they put in minimal lube when they are built. I'd add more lube, and they take a Shimano specific lube.
