Re: Frightliner-securing the jet

Remind me not to follow you too closely!!

Re: Frightliner-securing the jet

The ends of the fenders had a maze of dings all over the place, it seemed like it took forever to get them smooth again. The pictures are a little deceptive... everything straight and clean. I fully respect and love patina and age on a bike... and I know for sure that rust never sleeps, but I like spending the extra time to get my bikes as straight and smooth as I can. Thank god my wife and kids respect my hobby (for now anyway).

and thanks for all the positive comments and support!

Installed the rear LED running lights tonight and expanded aluminum mesh cover... Wanted the same warm glow of the jet engine and 60's star trek feel.

Beam me up Scotty! Nice work!

I LOVE that taillight, what did you use for the guts?

Here it the final fitted part, the bracket still needs a finish sanding and clear coat.

I used an expanded aluminum sheet over lexan and cut a alum bracket. As you can see it took a couple of attempts

Add some engine turned effect to reflect the light...

Re: Frightliner-Tell tail

When I bought my house it had the worlds LARGEST cigarette lighter, you could light FOUR at once!...For some reason they put it right next to the refrigerator. Get a beer, light up, go back and watch the race!.....I gotta get me a bike lighter, like yours.

This truly is a FRIGHTLINER!

Re: Frightliner-Tell tail

after a little hiatus and family time...

Started painting this evening, stage 1 of 3, fingers crossed. Using Roth RattleBombs, never used them before but so far so good!

Re: Frightliner-RattleBomb

Added a clear coat with some crazy toxic 2 part rattle can that also coated everything in my garage that was not covered.

Re: Frightliner- Back to work

Wow, this is going to be a fun one to watch go together.

Re: Frightliner- Back to work

Loving the sleek ultra-modern look! Despite having a bike in the competition I'd say you have a real shot at being right there at the top of this build off. Nice work!

Do you have a background in sheet metal fab?

Re: Frightliner- Back to work

Hey TVC15,

Your bike is looking really cool!! 8)
I like all the raw sheet metal work (for now).
The rear light setup is really interesting and unique.
The bottom bracket, chainring, and crank arms look phenomenal.
And it's a Liner!
