Hello, been having a look for a good bike forum the last couple days, i decided this was the best one :)

So, i've wanted a lowrider/dragster bike for yeeeaaarrs.... and then on sunday night, hubby and i were driving back from my mum's house and spied this little guy (below) out on the side of the road for hard rubbish collection. Apparently he's a Speedwell Metro 22... i have no idea what he is, doesn't look like a dragster or a bmx... just a bike i think...

so i don't really know what i wanna do with him, he's kinda... straight, anyone got any ideas?

Welcome!....BEND that fork, smaller wheel combo on front. Nix the fenders, but keep the rear rack. It'll change the whole attitude, for the better. IMHO

Well, I completely disagree with KOTA: The geometry looks fine so don't bend the fork, I like those fat fenders, and get rid of the rear rack. (Sorry, KOTA, we seem to have a different taste in bikes.)
Now you have to make up your own mind again...
Yours is similar to this one viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17644
I just fixed it and ride it as is, it's ratty enough. Yours may need some flowers, google 'speedwell'.
O, and I found this: http://canberrabicyclemuseum.com.au/Spe ... cycles.htm
Oops, almost forgot: welcome!

Think i'm with C.S. on that one.... i like the fat fenders too, they're staying, and the rack is going cuz i wanna put a bananna seat and sissy bar on it.... i know it's not a dragster, but i think it'll look alright.

i'm thinking of bending the forks though.... but it's all in bits at the moment while i'm cleaning it up, so im gonna wait till i put it back together (before i paint it though) to see if i do actually wanna do that...

i'm trying to spend as little money on it as possible, so i've been busy sanding back all the rusty chrome bits today, and hitting them with some killrust paint in satin-black.

sooo the over all feel seems to be going punk-rock rat-rod cruiser thing...... colour scheme is purple and black, with a couple of chrome highlights.

i'll post this all in builds when i get some pictures organised.
