It's funny...I was an ATK fan in my youth...I am an AMP research fan now...but, I never connected that they were the same 'Horst'...I mean, really, how many Horst's do you hear about :grin:.

Edit...oddly enough, I had the same issue connecting flat track legend Mert Lawwill with mountain bike pioneer Mert Lawwill :headbang:. But, at least I figured that one out myself... eventually.

You know that actually Mercedes Benz made bicycles pre-WWII and is one of the oldest German "bicycle manufacturing" companies in Europe?

Not as obscure as some others but this is my Iron Horse Fat bike. I have rebuilt and repainted it from ground up including many upgrades such as cable actuated hydraulic calipers for added stopping power, an old-school brooks knock off leather seat and grips, LED lighting front and rear for added safety, and knock off bear traps for superior grip and nostalgia. Qq

Honestly one of my top 2 favorite bikes in my collection.

This morning by chance I saw this interesting bike:

Never heard of the brand Utopia before.
Then while at a festival in the afternoon I ran into an old friend who was riding this beauty:

Believe it or not: Same brand! Utopia!

He told me a bit about the company that built it. Located in Germany, specialized in building bikes with small diameter tubing, now manufacturer of the famous Pedersen bikes. It used to be a very important company for the German bike culture as they pushed forward a lot on general bike infrastructure...
 
I think that model is sold at Walmart, don't think it's all that obscure. Looks very similar to the hyper easy rider

The frame geometry is different than the Hyper. OP is crank forward, Hyper just has a bent back seat tube. Never saw an OP bike in Walmart, just the Hyper. Must be a regional thing. Thanks.
