No, I really don't want to wear one on my cruisers, but if I'm going to ride on the military base where I work, I HAVE to wear one. Does anyone know where I can find one like this?

I don't want a novelty toy, I don't want a motorcycle helmet either. I want a BICYCLE helmet like the one pictured. Any Ideas? thanks!

The helmet you have pictured is a motorcycle helmet.

It can be found at this web store: http://www.daytonahelmets.com/home/day/ ... black.html

    Right you are Tater...It is indeed a MOTORCYCLE HELMET!   I know that.   I don't want a MOTORCYCLE HELMET.   I want a BICYCLE helmet that LOOKS LIKE THIS.

As Stated Above:
"I don't want a novelty toy, I don't want a motorcycle helmet".
I honestly don’t know how to respond to such a derisive reply.
I read your post and offered what I figured was a good lead in your quest for a German style helmet. You stated that you wanted a bicycle helmet like the one in your pic. How am I supposed to know that you know your pictured helmet is a motorcycle helmet when it is you calling it a bicycle helmet? Heck, it sure looks like a bicycle helmet, hence my surprise that it is indeed a motorcycle helmet. This forum is supposed to be a forum of friendly folks sharing their passion for bikes and not dishing out guff like you just laid on me for offering help.

Peace, I hope you find what you are looking for.

i am the owner of one of said motorcycle helmets, and it (oddly enough) works on bikes to, known via scrapes and chunks in the gold spray paint. i thinkk you mean a helmet shaped like that but with the foam and little pad things like a bike one. heads up though (no pun intended) the motor cycle ones are much more comfortable than the bike ones, and theyre just as cool. just my measly two cents

I bought one of those 'nevelty' German Helmets with the minimal padding and it just looked too clunky given the little padding inside. Turns out they only come in one shell size XL, so if you have a small head, you're still gonna get the XL shell size. So I decided to go the OG route and get a real steel M42 pre-war German helmet shell. These come in various shell sizes from 60cm to 68cm measured around the inside circumference, Mine is a 62cm. I retrofitted mine with current US military high tech padds used in their ACH combat helmet. I also had to drill 2 holes and affix the WW1 style leather chin strap attachment posts. It's a heavy bear, but i hope to get used to it.

Most bike helmets are one of 4 styles: generic, road, mountain and skate.

Skate style will be your closest to the german styling.

Protec is probably best http://www.pro-tec.net/riot-street-bike-helmet.php

Bell may have something and Giro had one but it must of been an older style.

OR you could always try a ski/snowboard helmet. Giro made one for awhile called the Bad Lieutenent

Here's mine. I live in base housing and have to wear one too, but it keeps the sun off and isn't a toy, it's real protection.
