2 Desert Rats...help identify?

Hi there,
I'm new to this great website, and glad I found you guys!
I hauled these 2 desert rats back from out west. I'd like to build the mens frame into a rat bike.
I'd love to find out what each bike was originally. The crank gears seem pretty unique.
I'd appreciate your help!

The top bike has what looks like a Huffman chain wheel, but I'm not positive the frame is Huffman. Somebody will know.

The men's frame looks like a Schwinn.

The top is Huffman built. Post up the serial numbers

Second frame is a Schwinn post war. I'd say it was a Phantom or B6 due to the upper bearing race. That's from the deluxe headset hardware. Crank and chain ring are not Schwinn. Looks like you might have some real problems around that seat post clamp. Gary
