Some pics of gold and black leather grips I made

I made these simple grips for a friend of mine and his girlfriend. The grip area is 4.5" long, 5.25" overall. They are billet aluminum, gold color plated. I'm hoping to have some concave and convex grips made up for this winter/spring. Not in gold though.

What do I do with these free Motomag 2's?

I was visiting some of my wife's relatives this past weekend. I got to talking with her uncle about the "good old day's" of BMX. Turns out he still has his 86' Redline with Skyway tuff's. He also had a set of Motomag 2's. Which I so luckily inherited! So a new project has just landed on...

Leather fork stopper for Slick Daddy (with process pics)

I put together a basic step by step about this leather fork stopper that I made to match these grips I made. You can see the grips here. http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=57728 Leather cut to size. Drew a grid on the leather with a pencil. Stamped using drill press. Arbor...

Ugly rubber grips made beautiful with embossed leather

Just finished up recovering these ugly rubber grips. I made an iron cross stamp. Then drew a grid on my 6oz veg tan. I stamped the leather using my drill press. Then colored the leather, laced it on and finished it with a sealer. Now on to the matching leather tool roll. Who knows when that will...

Pair of wheels, opinions? (pic heavy)

Hey guys/gals. These rims belong to a friend of mine. He wants to put them on a motorized bicycle because of the heavy guage spokes and front drum brake. They came off his 1930's tandem. I was wondering if they are of any rarity or value? He would consider selling them as he's not a collector of...

    Hub reccomendations

Is there a good brand of hubs available at a reasonable price for cruisers. I want to buy a new set (front/back) of black, 36 hole, 3/8" axle coaster brake. I'd like to keep it under about $50. Something like what Choppers US carries except they don't have a standard front hub without disc...

SPIKE NUTS need imput please **UPDATE**

Hi all. I am thinking of doing a run of "spike Nuts" and just wanted to get some feed back about what you would pay for something like this? Also what finish you would prefer? Rapido?

Here's the 20" bike that was given to my little sister in the late 80's. I have it now and don't know what I should do with it. The "head badge" is a sticker. It says "Rapido." My feeling is that it's a department store bike. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

    What's bike related in Vegas?

I'm going to Vegas next week and was wondering if there are any bike or Rat Rod related places? Any cool cruiser shops? I haven't pulled much ot of my web search other than Interbike.

    What are you running?

I'm interested to know what chainline and bottom bracket types are on other cruisers? I'm running a 42mm chainline with a one peice crank in a 68mm bottom bracket shell. That's with a standard 110mm coaster. I think this is probably the most common setup but I'm not sure? My wife's Electra has a...

    Pedal design help

Objective: To make a pedal body of my own design without re-engineering "the pedal." Requierments: Either a dimensioned drawing of the internals from a proven design. Or an existing pedal that is "rebuildable" that I can use the internals from. Why should you help? Heck, if it works out I could...

    What's up!

I'm 30, male and into bikes. How's that? I'm a machinist by trade. I started biking at a young age. My first bike was a Canadian Tire "Panther." It was a 20" BMX. No training wheels! Serious. I raced BMX locally as a teen. Then I got into mountain biking. Then I put my ... through school, got a...
