Then it was time for flipped bars...most folks think they're cool. But I hate riding with them like this.

Carl.
They look cool but I also hate riding a bike with flipped. When I was a kid in the 50’s we flipped them over like that but we were more agile back then.

I'll be searching for a shifter soon...

It's been cold enough outside, and in my garage, that I've been holed up and not doing much. Oh a little buffing but I want to get building on my rear wheel and my seatpost design. So I guess I'm going to have to go out to where my dead pickup truck is stashed and cut me a section of leaf spring cuz I can't work on it if I don't have the parts.

+1 on the landing gear fork. I like how it emulates the angle of the seat tube. Be interesting to see what your Monarch conversion looks like.

Shiny, shiny! *think recent Budlight commercial*

A wise man named Carl once told me, "But how does it feel? If its not comfortable then its no good, the main reason for these things is to ride!" or something like that lol, but yea I agree, always loved the look, but I like my back strait! Any how, love how things are coming along!!

A wiseguy maybe...

When it was a mockup it felt like it would steer normal, so I'll probably be changing it up. I may try some longer rockers, cantilevered out forward, to put the axle out front with a skinny 700 on it. I've had a slim 26 on it but I'm thinking really skinny.

Shiny Happy People!
Looking forward to the fork idea!

Very cool bars, they look good on there.
Thanks!
Just wait until they're about 8 inches longer!
Remember the vision for the seat post is a
leaf springer putting me back over the axle.
Add to the mix a springer front end with extended rockers.
Here's where the mutations start!

Those forks will mate up just fine to the springer section of the Monark. My only suggestion, install a set of ‘lawyer washers’ to the Landing Gear to close off the dropouts (perhaps even use a dap of clear silicone to help stick them in place) that’s what I did on my BareFlyte build.

Digging this build!

The fork started out as a black powder coated Monark repop. I did get the axle lockwasher to work with my fork.
Anybody else every try to strip one of these? Flawed metal, raggedy welds filled with bondo... and I made the mistake of attacking it with a cutting wheel like a DA, but they don't flex like a DA and I've got more sanding ahead of me. Tomorrow I'll try for some better pictures. Can't do much later though, tomorrow is my lady friend's birthday.

Looks good, alway's love your Kustoms

Got my 57mm rim today. Laced it to a 3CC 3 speed coaster hub. Need to come up with a shifter, but it's getting closer...
Couldn't get a great outdoor picture as it was raining today.

Ditto ^ ! I'm just getting familiar with 'hands on' to these Silver King frames. Saw one at the swap on Sunday down here. It came stock with 24" hoops. But looked like you might be able to fit a 26" in the frame / fork as well. Is your rear a 26er Carl? Waiting for all the #silverking experts to chime in now....
