I had a Schwinn Varsity once, this is what it looked like:
Maybe a bit closer to a lamplighter than a Wright Bros, but close enough in time period at least! But alas, after many months of re-welding and bracing it this past winter it got stolen mid-paint job... All they got was the frame (I'm assuming scrappers as there were no components on it) so a total value of maybe $20 lost, but I'm still sad over it. My next build will be even better and even taller though!!
Hooch, that ride is super clean. I'd never even think of turning a janky old ten speed into anything like that... Next time I cross one in a yard sale I have some new ideas to play with!
