Picked this up at a yard sale for $3.00 yesterday. Every thing is rusted solid. No headbadge so I don't have a clue what it is.

It had been yard art and her husband was making her get rid of it.

That 'snowflake' chainring was used a lot on early hawthornes, and possibly Elgins. Those bikes are the hardest to tell apart though! -Adam

ROACHED! Might I suggest something a bit stonger than WD-40, PB Baster, or Liquid Wrench? I suggest SANDBLASTING OR BEADBLASTING.

At the moment I need the seat from it so started soaking the bolts in pb-blaster. It just soaked in, kinda like when they painted the house on Green-Acres! I'll keep after it and see if the bolts will break loose next weekend.

The frame and forks look straight and I don't see any major rust pits any where. The handle bars are a different story, the look like water froze inside of them and split open.

Have Fun!
