Sorry Ed! I think one of my bikes was the first bike in the domino effect fiasco! It was very windy & very hot.

No problem, that stuff just happens. Kinda funny my bike stopped the flow and protected my Felt-Hurley. Sometimes at car shows I see stuff happen that makes me glad I don't have a show car. Parking lots are bad enough.
Took it apart, sanded the area, used some hi build primer, wet sanded, added a couple coats of paint, looks like a new rat. Maybe I should have left scrape as a badge of honor.

Still waiting on a couple of nameplates for the tank. I have one more item to add to validate the build name which will be revealed towards the build deadline. Other than tweaking a few details iAM HIGGINS is pretty much done.
I rode it again this morning and everything worked fine. Need to adjust seat some.

You ought to go get a garter strap from a wedding or stripper shop and use that as a fancy retainer strap.
You could even fold up a dollar and stick it in there.:cool2::banana:

Funny KF! Just a dollar? It's not that kind of bike though. A dog collar might work better.

You got to have a bare metal build to get more! :p

Original paint with rust, scuffs, bruises, battle scars, added patina and enhancement paint trumps bare metal. Anybody can get bare metal...now fabricated bare metal may be a different story.

I shortened the kickstand legs today and added the rubber feet. It's OK, but maybe a bit too short. The back wheel is about 1.375" off ground when stand is down.

Also added a couple of detail items. Some of you will call them doodads. '52 verification tag renewal recycled for a 52 Higgins.

Jeweled reflectors at axle ornamentation.

Going to pick up the "Higgins" nameplates on Saturday. I obtained them via LBS Porkchoppd Custom Bicycles. They will mount on the tank and will be back painted either black or red, I think.

Nice touch

Picked up the nameplates from Porkchoppd Custom Bicycles shop today. They have a connection with a machinist who made them based on my design.

One is back painted black as you can see. I'm thinking black, red or khaki. Thoughts out there?

Next big decision is mounting location. Here are a few spots.

Could keep it simple and just do chain guard. Survey says...?
