It has the feeling of being a schwinn, flying star, sweatheart sprocket. maybe a diffrent maker made it. Germany maybe? or it could be a manton-smith made schwinn.

If you look at the rear part of the frame on the left of the pic, I don't believe any DX's ever looked like that.

the frame and the stand looks now like a columbia (westfield) or prewar monark. with the serial number it should a lot easier to id
