Your bike is likely a 48 to 50 model. The serial number will id the correct year. Looks like the wheels and chainring have been changed as well. Hope you find a red front fender.
Cool locking front fork.
Westfield was a company from Massachusetts. Their house brand bike was Columbia. They made bikes for many retailers, like Sears who sold with the Elgin badge.
Finding info is easier searching under Columbia.

I've seen a few of those get rusty. The only part I have for those repops is a left side of the tank. I've had it in the parts pile for years. A couple of years ago a guy had right sides for sale on eBay. Kinda regret not picking one up.

Very cool trailer. Bike is probably late 40's early 50's. Should also be some letters stamped as part of serial number. That will pin down the year.

The first bike is CWC with a changed crank. The second bike is Westfield built. The G serial number puts it from 1942, one of the last civilian balloon frames. The military Columbias had an MG serial number.

I have a prewar version of this frame, it is also 1/2" pitch. To me this frame is M & S 's version of the Schwinn DX ( coincidence that when Schwinn supplied the DX to Mead they also came with the Crusader badge?). The unique feature of M&S bikes are the unfinished welds at the joints. Instead...
The picture of the bike is kinda blurry ( I'm viewing on my phone). The bike was made by Manton & Smith for Mead in the late forties. Can't quite make out the rear drop outs, they appear to be forward facing. M & S also had a pre war frame just like this that had rear facing fork ends ( drop...
You're right, the chainguard is a postwar aftermarket item. Frame and fork is Schwinn, agree it looks like a C model. The w serial number is likely from early 1938 (although records for serial numbers were destroyed in 1948, there are lists pieced together for pre war numbers). The fenders don't...
Welcome. It is a Shelby built bike. As far as I know, no ones decoded their serial numbers yet. Your Morrow hub dates from the 4th quarter of 1935, so your bike is probably from early 36. Your bikes details are consistent with that.
