    Columbia Superb

Your bike is likely a 48 to 50 model. The serial number will id the correct year. Looks like the wheels and chainring have been changed as well. Hope you find a red front fender. Cool locking front fork.

Video walk around of unknown Skiptooth. Help!!

Westfield was a company from Massachusetts. Their house brand bike was Columbia. They made bikes for many retailers, like Sears who sold with the Elgin badge. Finding info is easier searching under Columbia. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Columbia Repop 5 Star

I've seen a few of those get rusty. The only part I have for those repops is a left side of the tank. I've had it in the parts pile for years. A couple of years ago a guy had right sides for sale on eBay. Kinda regret not picking one up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Mercury year???

Very cool trailer. Bike is probably late 40's early 50's. Should also be some letters stamped as part of serial number. That will pin down the year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pair i just picked up Any ideas?

The first bike is CWC with a changed crank. The second bike is Westfield built. The G serial number puts it from 1942, one of the last civilian balloon frames. The military Columbias had an MG serial number. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Antiques

Second bike is Shelby built. From 1937 to 39 judging from the frame and flat fender braces.

    I Mead Some Help

I have a prewar version of this frame, it is also 1/2" pitch. To me this frame is M & S 's version of the Schwinn DX ( coincidence that when Schwinn supplied the DX to Mead they also came with the Crusader badge?). The unique feature of M&S bikes are the unfinished welds at the joints. Instead...

    I Mead Some Help

The picture of the bike is kinda blurry ( I'm viewing on my phone). The bike was made by Manton & Smith for Mead in the late forties. Can't quite make out the rear drop outs, they appear to be forward facing. M & S also had a pre war frame just like this that had rear facing fork ends ( drop...

Help to I.D. this swap meet find please

You're right, the chainguard is a postwar aftermarket item. Frame and fork is Schwinn, agree it looks like a C model. The w serial number is likely from early 1938 (although records for serial numbers were destroyed in 1948, there are lists pieced together for pre war numbers). The fenders don't...

    Western Flyer

Welcome. It is a Shelby built bike. As far as I know, no ones decoded their serial numbers yet. Your Morrow hub dates from the 4th quarter of 1935, so your bike is probably from early 36. Your bikes details are consistent with that.

    Prewar Monark

Anyone seen a Monark with this frame before? This one had been sprayed black over the original red/white paint.

    53-56 Western Flyer X53**UPDATE

    MOT-W is a 1957 serial number.

    JC Higgins Help

I have 2 serial # lists for Monark, one places it at the end of 49 and the other early in 50. Either way your bike was probably a 1950 model. Can't tell if it orig had a tank but one from a Monark should fit. Looks like a Monark Rocket frame.

    Help! Schwinn skip tooth

The bike is a 40-41(39s had a straight down tube) base DX model that may not or may not of come with a tank etc. The wide rims first appeared in the 1941 catalog. Love that color combo!

    unknown what is it?

Bike is a ca. 1949 Westfield built bicycle. I believe that dropout appeared in 48 and stopped in 50-51. The serial # is on the BB and should probably start with an M or R. Not sure why yours doesn't. The rims, if original, appeared in late 49 which help date it, along with chainring, chainguard...
