Worth it?

I’m going to check out this bike tomorrow.. 87 schwinn sierra..has some great parts and the black chrome colorway is amazing.. they’re asking $225.. y’all think that’s a fair price?
And any thoughts on keeping it as is? or turning it into a bmx cruiser?
Is there any “collector value“ to these older mountain schwinns?

Seems kind-of-high to me, but in my neighborhood, sometimes people put old derailleur bikes out on the street for refuse collection on Mondays?

I passed on it, and a few days later I found 2 bikes on the curb
