This thing looks roached, but I figured I would ask.
Can it be re-conditioned to be a rideable saddle? The chrome and springs are in great shape.
I picked an old Raleigh Sprint for free and it had this saddle on it.
Looks like it sat in the elements for 20 years.

Woah! Well it is possible to restore it if you know what to do.

What i would try is sand down the leather little bit to lessen the gaps where the cracks is but don't sand too much. Then apply and massage proofide very good into it and see how it turn out. Worth the try before get it total restore which is pretty expensive.

Try the proofide first, you may be suprised on how well it works.
Even if it's a wall hanger it will be prettier.
