Where to buy new parts?

My wife has a hybrid Schwinn from just about 20 years ago. The bike works fine but she wants to make it more comfortable. The seat was an obvious choice but now I'm looking at bringing the front up a bit more. The handle bars have been raised as far as they'll go but that's not enough. I've been looking into an adjustable stem but maybe new bars are all I need. Where would be the best place for new components for an older bike?

Try you local bike shop first. They may have new or take-off parts plus you could try different handlebars out. If you don' t mind used, try a bicycle coop.
