Daughter n me Took a ride to the boat ramp today, stopped at the soccer Fields first,

Then a swingy swingy

And a couple single pics by the river, was great to get out with the middle child,
Today I rode the Schwinn classic AL,

And the daughter rode the Firmstrong,
Both bikes came from the thrift shop, $30 for the schwinny and $25 for the Firmstrong.,
Love the ride of this bike and love its bars too, she's already claimed it as hers

Well I finally did it, I got the young bloke off the playstaion and off his phone..... OK ok it did take a $140 trip to scooter Hut for some new parts but its a late birthday present so its all good! was good to see him keen to build something as he chucked on his new bars, wheels and end caps, we were eyeing off a $200 set of titanium bars but they didnt have an extensive range so for that money I wanna have a look at various styles and colors etc, anyway the young bloke liked a set of cheaper ally bars in black which allowed the buying of wheels and end caps. Even though he's set up his workshop in the middle of the lounge I feel so good ive got him this far out of his room I dare not push my luck! "dont worry bout grease stains son, i'll teach you how to remove them later" he couldnt even raise a smile.... too busy

So of course another trip to the boat ramp n park, and yes we even got him out of the house and he insisted the scooter gets in the pic today!
Hooray, I feel as if ive accomplished so much!
Was good to get the "Great Scott " out n about today as well! ran great.

First dirt for Monolith

Out before the sun was up so the temps were still below 20. Chased some whitetails and wild turkeys, couldn't keep pace with a flying heron, watched the sun come up over the pond

It's amazing how quiet the turkeys can be, I stopped here to watch a deer bounding down the line, didn't even realize that there were 5 burds making their way through the scrub on the other side of the tracks, less than ten feet away!

Saw this thing taking a nap, too cute all cuddled up in a bed of leaves

Out, about, and back again in time to make my baby her morning cuppa

Jumped on my Elgin after a 3 mile walk to get a spare key for my truck with keys locked inside.

Took a break while the train passed......

After weeks of toe clips and racing handlebars on my Build Off bike I changed pace and did 20km on the STR8 today.
20c and overcast in Brisbane - but not too bad for mid-winter.

took Great scott for another blast today! I used to do this trip a lot and would get home tired but still very able!
Well after almost 2 months since I last visited here I was as dead as a door nail! the long pumps and then steady speed retainment had all but dissappeared, I had to slow then swap the cogs right down and just putt along for a bit, at times I even stopped! wow I feel so outa shape after such a small amount of time in lay off, just projects got in the way!
Interesting fact, only 3-4 yr ago there was only farmland as far as you could see, slowly the urban sprawl encroach's us! one things for sure is the guy who owns the land at the end of this road is sitting on an absolute gold mine!

The theme for Bike Night was "Hawaiian Shirts" and we had 86 people & 2 dogs at the start with great weather!

I had little time to prepare so grabbed my Elgin from the top of the pile. Others joined along the ride & had to be over 100 riders at one point.

An incredible way to take a break & relax in the middle of the week!
