I took a ride with oldride & willyschad today to this really cool muscle bike shop. I also got to ride a high wheeler for the very first time.

No Chad didn't buy the mongoose. None of the bikes are for sale but he has lots of parts. We left with some flag valve caps, a derailleur, sissy bar & a couple of tires.

wish i'd known ya wanted a mongoose. i just gave one to a friends little guy. found it at a garage sale for $10. pretty much identical right down to the grips but the bike was blue and chrome. had a haro number plate on it also.

a little worst for wear but it woulda cleaned up real nice. tires on the otherhand where very weathered.

I have to ask-what was it like riding a high wheeler? I've always toyed with the idea of getting one of the many replicas available but it seems a bit daunting...

It was a little scary. You feel every little bump in the road with the hard rubber wheels & you can not turn sharp or you'll tip over. Also when you slow down it obviously becomes more unstable but it was lots of fun & I think it just takes some getting use to.

awesome place! i wonder why they used such a large front wheel though.. :?
