I read with great interest about the organization of a Board track race at a Velodrome and it got me thinking about where they are. Apparently there are only 18 of them in the US. So I looked for the most centrally located one and found it to be in Indianapolis at the Major Taylor velodrome. Check out the website http://www.majortaylorvelo.com/ There is open riding time for $4 per person and it can be rented out. Read all the details. It sounds really cool. How about a Nostalgia Track race?? new/Old bikes. I am just intrigued about trying any/all of my board trackers out on the 'Drome. If we were to try and put something together in the middle of the country, would there be any interest?

well then why dont we just hold different events as this whole rat bike thing is all over. talk to different tracks and lets organize some sort of regional thing. i too would have a hard time getting there. i already have thrown out there the idea of this as well as next may 10th there will be a big suede show held in sacramento that i am inviting everyone of you too. thought it would be a good way to at least get the west coast guys together.

Hey - Indianapolis is in Indiana, not Oregon. I was just throwing this out as an idea. I am not volunteering to organize it or otherwise. Thought it might be cool, but... after thinking more about it will probably be too expensive. Fun too think about though! 8)

like i said you could organize different events in different areas. maybe we could even come up with classes like single speed and multi? iduno

oh yes i am looking for an old leather helmet and goggles as we speak.

sounds like a lot of fun i will maybe look into it. sensor bring out ol gramps but maybe we need to get a better set of wheels on her first. just for the record your bike is awsome you know i am a sucker for original paint.

The Lehigh Valley 'drome is right in the back yard of Bicycling Magazine and is supposed to be a top flight facility.
I didnt even know they offered public days!
I'd seriously think of working up a cruiser into a 30's motorcycle configuration and ride it with plus fours and tweed!

It will include: BMX, Four-Cross, Skills Terrain, Jump/Aerials Terrain, Short-Track MTB, Cyclo-Cross, and the cornerstone outdoor 333 meter concrete surface Cycling Track.
