Many of youns know my Fleet. A coppertone 24" wearing Columbia tandem 26"s and a Krate fork. Yesterday I removed the single speed coaster hub and installed a three speed. I had a choice between a SA and this nameless one (Says Shimano on the lever). This one was upshifting mighty smooth, so in it went. I laced it to the beefy tandem wheel. This was the job from heck as the spokes all needed shortened a bit. I finally had to modify the frame by welding in a bar to hold the now necessary hand brake. I was worried the cables would ruin the clean looks. But....they cleaned up nice and I looped them from the left side over to the right with a curve meant to mimic the handlebar shape. Plus, I mounted the brake underneath. How's it work now? Glad u asked. Great! I rode the eight mile to work and took the long long long way home up much hilly terain. So far, so very good!!
