I posted a quick before and after pic in my intro thread, but I thought I would post some more pics on my build here. It is by no means an overly complicated build, but the bike was a mess when I got it.

Don't be too harsh to me, this was my first full bike renovation/repair. It has been about a month since I bought the typhoon off Ebay. After many hours in the garage I am finally finished with it. Taking off all the paint took longer than I anticipated. Once I got it all taken apart I realized the front wheel is actually not a Schwinn Tubular rim. It was a standard 26 inch rim. I stripped the paint off everything. Whoever painted it before actually took the time to sand and prime random parts, so the paint and chrome was pretty much shot. I ended up painting the rims a deep orange and put on some new whitewalls. I had to completely take apart the wheels to get all the paint off the spokes. So I learned how to re-lace and true a wheel. And the front wheel actually had a different lace pattern. I painted the frame, chain guard a dark metallic grey and I painted the fenders matte black. I stripped the paint off the badge for a brushed aluminum look. I ended up replacing the seat with a seat from a World Tourist, but I have a banana seat and low profile sissy bar on order that will eventually replace that seat. I did end up replacing was the pedals. I had a tough time getting the red paint off the rubber blocks. Overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out. I have attached a few pictures so you can see the before and after.

I ended up changing the seat and grips and flipping the bars. I plan on changing out the seat with a banana and low profile sissy bar soon.

I think you did a great job, regardless of whether this was your first time or not. I think you'll find that most members on this forum aren't bike snobs. That's why this forum is the only one I bothered to join. This hobby is supposed to be about having fun, which to me is what bicycles are about.

That bike was an absolute mess before, and you turned it into a very cool ride.

Garage

I take pride in my garage. I use every nook and cranny. I built all the shelves and two full walls have floor to ceiling pegboard. Also notice my folding workbench, it's my favorite part (and is super strong). All this crap in here and I can still fit both my cars in it. I know this is sort of off topic, but I show it off when I get the chance.

Here are a few shots of the insanity.

My thoughts exactly!

Very nice garage too BTW
What sort of floor paint/technique have you used for it? My garage is still a work in progress and a good durable floor treatment is on the agenda for next summer.

Man, your style of the bike is sooooo much better than the previous owners.. I think now it looks like a great canvas for pinstripers. Dangerous Dan

Nice bike. really dig the big reflector on the fender. Your garage is really cool. Think i might steal the folding work bench idea from you.
