But it might take a while until I can really get at it, as the next few weeks and especially the weekends are pretty busy and I do not see big chances to get to the campground where most of the stuff I need is stashed...

But the good thing is, my autumn break starts at mid october, so I might get a chance at some days of fulltime wrenching...

I build rats, the frame is ratty already. It will probably stay as it is (might have to tie in the very shiny aluminum fork...), so we are good here!

It comes apart very easy and will provide a spacious case for the front light and batteries

The handle is just screwed on. This will get me two good mounting points

But as I'm out of Berlin now for two days full of school related workshops, this will have to wait...

Picked up that Zündapp frame today after work. In the basement I pulled the cruiser frame and the seat out of storage for a very rough mock up and I think, I can make this work...

Will it look ridiculous? Probably yes. Do I care? No!
So I stripped the frame of all unnecessary stuff and will probably sell the fork and the brakes to make up for the money I spent on the frame...

Shifters, stem, handlebar, barends, BB and seat stay go into the stash, the rest is for the bin...
The bare frame is still very heavy, but the hacksaw will take care of that soon...

Still looks doable...

Arrived at the campground today for a long weekend, but might not get as much done as I want to, due to "family programs". We will see...
First order of business was to get the front end. Looks ok for now, but we'll need some refinement.

Then I tried to get the rear axle mounted, just to realize that I need to cut off the mount for the breakarm...

But with that gone I quickly saw that's not enough. I need to shave of a bit of both rear dropouts to really make the axle mounts fit. So this has to wait until tomorrow when I can work with the electric hacksaw...

So I mocked up what I have and must say it resembles an adult size kiddies tricycle I'm really curious where I end up with this one...

So with the forced break on the rear I redirected my focus on the front light. I had a feeling that somewhere in my stash was a light that might fit into the bottom of that thermos.

With some filing and sanding I can make this work

So let's see what tomorrow brings...
