Today we rode one of our favorite bike trails. Starting off in Ft Worth's Trinity Park along the Trinity River and up to the Stockyards Tourist area in near North Ft Worth. It's about 12 easy miles round trip. We started off around 9 am to beat the Texas heat. It was around 75-80F starting out, and according to my car's temp gauge 100F on the way home at 2 PM. Come along and I'll show you some of the things we saw.
Unloaded the Hybrids at the Ft Worth Zoo's miniature train ride station parking lot.
The trail is nice and wide and pretty flat. Runners, walkers, dogs, horses, and bicycles all use it together.
Oh, and Segway tours too.
Along the way we saw Fish.
We rode under the Main Street bridge with the Courthouse hiding among the tall buildings on the river bluff.
We passed by Lagrave Field where the boys of summer play baseball, the Ft Worth Cats minor league team.
We also passed by the old Swift Meat Packing ruins where they built a movie set for some prison break TV show or movie. I never saw it, maybe you did?
When we got to the Stockyards, we stopped at Riscky's BBQ for some refreshment
...and a BBQ samich... yummy!
In the Stockyards we saw...
....and "out of towner tourists" watching the twice daily Longhorn Cattle Drive down Exchange Ave.
On the way back we saw the duck pond
Lots of people brought out their fabulous low riders to enjoy the park.
We saw a kayak class in session.
A final visit to the mist station, and we loaded up the bikes and headed home to some well deserved A/C!
