Hey fellas, I haven't been on here in a minute, but I thought I would post up some pics of my simple creation, the "Rota Racer". I just got out to Rota Naval Air Station, where I will be deployed to for the next six months. So I traded a pair of cheapie Shogun beach cruisers for a handle of Jack from a guy in the batallion we are relieving, and went to town. I took the best parts from the two to make one decent bike.
I had a steelworker friend of mine hack and reweld the layback seatpost, I flipped the bars around and down, and stripped every unnecessary piece from the bike, and viola, Spanish board tracker!
This is closeup of the seatpost. She did an awesome job welding it up!
Here are some pictures from this afternoon...
On the beach...
Rota, and the sunset in the background...
So that is my basic base racer... I might rape a mountain bike for the telescopic front forks, but I am by all means not finished with this thing!
