I started building bikes a few years ago ... but my metal working skills weren't good ... so looked what happened !!

This cruiser has changed my thinking about riding ... I was upright for many years ... but now I just love to lay back and ride !!

Sorry about the ‘typo’ in my home page address http://www.silkwoodcycles.com ...so I’m lacking typing skills as well as metal working skills !!

I’m stoked by what people are doing and posting on RatRod Bikes … but have been a bit reluctant to post about my bike building efforts.
If your thinking about building a frame, wood has great ride characteristics and can be sculptured to any tube shape ! Build it hollow ... Just don't over do it and make everything out of wood!!

Wow. Loveley stuff. I think someone builds them outta wood in northern europe as well.
They look bad ... in my book. oh, and my welding skills were crap when i started, that shouldnt discourage you.
