This is what I do when the weather gets to cold to ride the cruser. I removed the tires, wheels, bottom bracket and brakes and added articulating skis. It was a little scarry at first cause I kept reaching for the brakes and getting nothing but air! After I learned how to "hocky stop" the rest was nothing but fun. Catchin air is a blast and the speed can be a thrill! I converted a Schwinn Sweet Spot for my 79 year old father so he could get back on the mountain with his grandchildren without trashing his knees. Lot of folks are doing it now and we even had a Gran Prix race last winter at Hoodoo Mountain in Oregon. Go to You-Tube and search for "Skibiketrash" and look for "First Heat" and "Main Heat". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Lw-H0lii4M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9PRs29MZ2A
We ride them here in New Mexico at Angle Fire Ski Area and have a blast!

Ride on,

Nice nice!!

I have snowboard kicking around I've been wanting to do that to a bike. And bingo I got a cheap frame donor with that same rear end.

Awesome ski bike! Envious of your hills though..

Now that has got to be fun! I got hills but no snow. :(
