I posted a while back that I got this 78 Schwinn Scrambler at a garage sale.

Here's the first step in it's make over.

Are those plastic or metal mags? If plastic, what paint?

The wheels are plastic. I'm using Krylon Fusion for plastic.

Are the forks the reinforced style?

Sorry to hijack, but, I've got some lester metal mags that were on my FIRST bike (i've hung onto them about 25 years now, and they were used when my folks got me my bike)... how could i figure out the value on these suckers?
they are heavy as heck!
as a kid i could never figure out why i couldnt do a wheelie like my friends!

Yes it's a coaster brake.

I don't think so. Just look like the regular Schwinn forks. What's different about the reinforced?

The reinforced forks have an little extra brace thingy. There's a set for sale on the Schwinn forum:
