Schwinn LeTour Serial ID

Trying to help a friend ID his bike. No pic and I have not seen it. But number is:
SD934028. It is a LeTour I guess. Any help would would be great!

Assuming this is a newer Le Tour (I believe 74' was the first year).I don't recall ever seeing an "S'" in the serial numbers for Schwinn newer than the 50's. Where did you pull that number from,the rear dropout,the headtube or bottom bracket? Usually the Le Tours have the small round head badge with the 4 digit code stamped in it. That might be your best bet, aside from posting photos.

Most LeTours were Panasonic built, so the serial system is entirely different. Show us a pic, but looking at your serial, I'm guessing it's actually 5D934028. If that's the case, it's likely from April 1975 or April 1985 (this is why pics would help).... but it also could be that your bike is neither Schwinn nor Panasonic built.... so, yeah.....pictures.

I agree and know better but I haven't even seen it myself.
