Can somebody give me an idea on when this bike was made? It's a Schwinn Deluxe Hornet. I got it from my dad's barber and he said that he's had it for at least 50 years or so. Serial Number is located on the rear dropout..

April 1952, no exact day though, just between the 4th and 30th on angelfire, but there might be more exact sources out there.

That's not a '52 bike. Look at the springer...it's the '55 or later style. Early Hornets had straight bar frames. A cantilever Hornet is most likely a middleweight frame and from the late 50's. Check your tires. 26 X 1 3/4 I'd bet. Gary
