I bought an old 1962, 28" "Diamant"-bike with a much older headlight some weeks ago:

The headlight might be some mid 30s - early 40s. Unfortunately the bike fell down and the glass is now broken, so I have to find a replacement.

I stripped the bike down and it is now waiting to get powder coated, I just need a new rim for the front.

Tires will be 28 x 2,00 Fat Franks in cream.

Here are some of the parts I'll use:

I couldn't decide which shifter to use, thats why there are two.

Re: RRH - Red Racer Hunter

That's got some rake. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Yes, YES!!!
That´s how a bike should look like! I love it!
Your plans for the headlight?

My plan is to keep this bike as simple as possible. That also means: no second brake and no lights.
But the big headlight might find its way onto another bike.

Re: RRH - Red Racer Hunter

Great color combo, and that rake just makes it all look even faster.

Are you gonna put a kinda dropped straight handlebar on it?

Re: RRH - Red Racer Hunter

Very very nice.
The frame reminds of my latest build...

What I like most about this kind of frame is that the head- and seattube have the same angle...

I'm looking forward to see the final result of your build, but you can already tell that it 'll be awesome!!

Grtz,
Peter

Re: RRH - Red Racer Hunter

Well, that´s it.
Looking at this bike and "50s Miele" made me decide that my next build will be in this category.
Done something similar for my last build, which I had to sell (guy made me an offer I could not refuse),
but regretted it immediately, so... I´ll start ASAP!

Thanks for the inspiration DeadBolt, Gilpet and KiserKraut (50s Miele creator). :D
