I fibbed have decided to add one more part for today . Columbia put a model number on thier badges for each model . I found the correct badge with no model number a small miracle . View attachment 216634View attachment 216635
Bike looks awesome. Graphics look awesome. I like your retaining wall and cute houses and fences in the background too! -were you going to out BLO on this? What were your plans for the wonderful patina?

I’ve been remodeling my work shop the last two weeks may not look like I did though and I’m still not finished . The grips I had where missing the reflectors but I had three that I found while cleaning . You never know what you have when you differ putting things in order . I found things I didn’t know I had still. LoL . It’s not easy putting glass in 90 year old grips. But it’s done. And I found the perfect brake arm clip . As you can see in the last photo I’m still remodeling. .

I wish that my shop was this organized!
Thank you , Organizing the shop has been more work than building all three bikes combined . Plus I’ve been working on several other bikes durring this build off mostly doing outdoor stuff that I couldn’t do once the weather turns to winter. It will be worth it when I’m done with the shop . That being said I don’t think I’ll ever be done with the shop . Lol

That's an interesting front fork setup for the axle. A hole on one dropout and the usual slot on the other dropout. How do you get the axle into the hole without binding when installing or taking off the wheel?
You have to have a axle that fits but isn’t overly long . I’ve actually shortened axles in the past on these type of builds .

Holy Heck cant believe this bike is close to 100 yrs old! what an achievement itself to just own it let alone rebuild it!, im really impressed!
Thank you for the compliment. I just picked up this one and I may use it for a future build off . This bike is 125 years old ! Lots of incorrect parts but the frame the fork the steering linkage and sestpost are correct. This bike was $150 new in 1897 .

Is that linked steering? Does the back bar turn with the front, or is it rear steer? That is very interesting
Holy Smoking Daisy's @125yrs..... and that steering, im guessing its more of a steering assist, and the front sprockets, maybe they have been changed etc
But, @$150 in 1897....wow, thats a very expensive bike and its also worth noting how even since 125yrs ago the basic layout, set up and style hasnt changed at all

Awesome! The steering chain is skip tooth.
The original drive train was skiptooth. The frame, the fork , the fork linkage , and seat post are original , along with the crank hardware . Eveything else was part of a 1970s refresh. I’m going to make it more period correct if I can’t find original parts . I have a lot of bikes to build before this one though. .
