Retrofitting a Banana Seat

Hey guys,

I have a Wal-Mart La Jolla cruiser and was wondering if I could make a banana seat w/sissy bar fit on it. Could the guys rockin stock banana seats chime in and post pictures of how their setup is with mounting?

Many sissybars mount to the wheel axle, so that should not be a problem. Just make sure you get a sissybar that mounts that way.

You could also mount a sissybar onto the holes in the dropouts with a sissybar clamp, but those holes look like #10 holes (or an equivalent size in metric) which is kind of small for such a purpose, but you could drill and tap them to a larger size.

Could you post a link of said sissy bar? I'm unfamiliar with that style, all the ones I've seen are the lowrider ones with the holes and clamp....Also, can any banana seat with the two holes in the back fit with any sissy bar?

Good luck with your build, the La Jolla is a great lightweight cruiser, a banana seat and some apehangers will have you poppoing wheelies in no time! :mrgreen:
