recovering persons or lobdell seats

I'm sure this must have been covered before, here! Is recovering these seats something that is easy to do correctly, or should I take it to a shop to be done with special tools? They will be ridden, not just looked at. Thanks!
 
I used to do this all the time. i would buys leather scraps from an upholstery shop (top grain only, no split leather), cut to the pattern of the old cover, soak for a day in water, place on pan and fold edges over and clip with clothes pins, allow days to dry. always came out great.
 
Hay Daniewcz on this forum, at least to me, there is no right or wrong. It is all about doing it yourself in your own style, enjoying yourself in the process.
