I started this bike 4 years ago but never finished it. I painted it last week so I could go for a ride at a local car show. The bike was a ladies Colson? and I cut the frame and flipped the front and rewelded it back on. The frame is not modified other than that. It has powdercoated rims on a Bendix 2 speed rear hub with lever shifter. The front light is mounted on the axle and the 2 rear are new old stock from England. That thing is wicked! I love the headlight position too.

Now that's an approach to a girls frame conversion I've not seen. I like it. I like it a lot. Kind of like a top tank moped or Honda MB5 with no down tube... Is there a lot of frame Flex?

i agree now there is a use for all those women's cruisers we all have sitting around.
 
It is solid as can be, no frame flex. It is a little top heavy. If I turn the wheel the wheel flops to the side. I may have to put a small tab at the front of the forks and move the axle foreward an inch or so. This may solve it. Any ideas? I have another ladies bike and may do the same style to it. I have a second pair of rims powdercoated red. I also want to doe a bike with a very plain paint, maybe cream with darker accents.

just thought id ask, i couldnt help but stare at them rather than the bike :shock: my wife got a yard gnome with the intentions of collecting them, i thought it would be funny if i put him on the roof, wife came outside and he quickly commited suicide landing directly in the center of the sidewalk .... end of gnome collection.
 
this is just sooo cool. That bike looks perfect and unique.
Way to go with the ladies : turn 'em upside down, and ride !
